Gracie White is the Director of Global Ocean Investments for Conservation International Ventures LLC (CI Ventures), where she invests in early-stage companies in emerging markets, including Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa, using a mix of debt and equity investment products. Her background is primarily in sustainable aquaculture, including a previous role at Hatch Blue, and she also brings experience in entrepreneurship and seaweed farming. She is passionate about gender equity and works to support the next generation of female innovators and leaders within the blue economy. She champions this cause through a program called “Women in Ocean Food,” addressing the gender gap in venture funding. Gracie earned a Master’s degree in Marine Resource Management from the UCSB Bren School and a B.A. in Sustainable Food and Agriculture from Yale. Based in Santa Barbara, California, she frequently travels to the regions where CI Ventures invests. Gracie is an avid diver, an amateur underwater photographer, and can often be found searching for nudibranchs in her local California tide-pools.
