We are thrilled to announce the ten ocean professionals that will make up the 2022 cohort of the Edinburgh Ocean Leaders (EOL) executive leadership programme.
The Ocean Leaders were found through a global nomination process and chosen to take part in the programme by an international selection panel.
They come from eight countries and work in a diverse range of ocean sectors including community-led conservation, environmental law, citizen science and the marine protected area management.
To be selected for the programme, the Ocean Leaders have demonstrated exceptional capacity for leadership in their field.
The ethos of EOL is to support globally distributed leadership in situ and we support the Ocean Leaders wherever they live and work. The Ocean Leaders will attend regular online meetings and take part in bespoke leadership training and professional skills development.
The 2022 cohort will have the opportunity for exchanges and discussion with the previous Ocean Leader corhorts, joining the growing network of Ocean Leaders around the world.
They will also take part in Edinburgh Ocean Conversations, discussion events with individuals in internationally significant senior leadership positions.
The 2022 cohort will contribute to events at Monaco Ocean Week and undertake an international field mission in 2023.
