Dr. Meriwether Wilson, co-founder and co-director of Edinburgh Ocean Leaders, organized a key session at New York Climate Week as part of her work with Yale Blue Green, a Yale alumni initiative focused on environmental issues.
In collaboration with Yale Planetary Solutions, she led the session titled “Emerging Perspectives on Ocean Futures,” where she served as a panelist alongside EOL Advisor Dr. Marea Hatziolos. The event brought together thought leaders from various fields, including Lisa Suatoni of the Natural Resources Defense Council, Sam Teicher of Coral Vita, Toby Bryce of Yale’s Center for Natural Carbon Capture, and Peter Bryant of Builders Vision.
This diverse panel explored the critical frontiers where their sectors intersect with climate change and ocean health, examining how each field’s advancements could impact the future of marine ecosystems. The discussion emphasised how strategic investment and innovation across finance, conservation, carbon capture, and marine science are essential to shaping resilient pathways for our climate and ocean.
