Nathalie Gil

President of Sea Shepherd Brazil

Nathalie Gil is currently President of Sea Shepherd Brazil. With an academic background in Communications (BSc) and Social Sciences (Post Grad) in ESPM in Brazil, also Philosophy (Post Grad) and International Relations (Post Grad) at Open University UK, she spent 17 years studying human behavior, cultural norms, and decision-making for global corporations on the private sector. After a decisive career shift and crewing aboard Sea Shepherd ships, she redirected her expertise to where it is most urgently needed: understanding how human culture and behaviour can evolve to protect the planet. Now eight years into her work with environmental activism, Nathalie leads Sea Shepherd Brazil with a clear focus on the species most in need of study—and intervention—Homo sapiens. Her leadership bridges the divide between people and the planet, cultivating a bold, passion-driven movement for ocean protection and the rights of marine life.
