Tasrif has over 10 years experience in leading efforts to establish and improve the effectiveness of marine protected areas and develop sustainable fisheries management in Indonesia. He is currently the Marine Senior Program Manager at Wildlife Conservation Society Indonesia, overseeing the marine program portfolio at four provinces and two marine national parks. In his role, Tasrif works closely with government and local communities to reduce threats to marine natural resources and rebuild fish populations. This includes assisting the West Nusa Tenggara provincial government to establish and improve marine protected areas, strengthen sustainable fisheries co-management and facilitate a task force to combat destructive fishing. Tasrif has a masters degree in Fisheries from the Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) University, his research focused on the dynamics of reef fisheries in Karimunjawa National Park.
