Klaas de Vos is an independent consultant working on the sustainable development of the ocean. He uses a creative approach to tackle some of the biggest sustainability challenges facing the ocean and has worked on a variety of ocean issues including fisheries, conservation and plastic waste. He has worked for the public and private sector in several countries including Vietnam, the UK, the Netherlands, Colombia, Mexico and Indonesia. In recent years, his focus has been on how to apply sustainable financing to the ocean, finding ways to unlock capital to transform our blue economy and what sustainability really means in investment. Klaas recently co-authored The Ocean Finance Handbook for the Friends of Ocean Action to illustrate ways to finance a sustainable ocean.
