Harriet is a Research Fellow at the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security, University of Wollongong, and a Guest Investigator at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Her work informs the development of a UN treaty for marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction. She holds degrees in marine biology and international law and has ten years of experience in science policy and international ocean governance.
Harriet leads international working groups including within the Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development, advises international organisations and governments, and serves as an associate editor of the journal Marine Policy.
