Adam is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of ‘Planet Indonesia’, a grassroots non-profit that conserves at-risk ecosystems and species through village-led partnerships. His focus is on ‘inclusive conservation’ where the knowledge, views and aspirations of the coastal communities are integral to developing and delivering improved sustainable management of marine and coastal resources in Indonesia and beyond.
By creating the right conditions for local communities to engage in conservation, his organization has drastically reduced mangrove forest loss, improved fish and crab stocks while also improving community health and securing resilient livelihoods. Adam’s work demonstrates that building a commitment to improving human well-being can help deliver conservation outcomes at the same time.
